Lincolnton-based lawyer with Teddy, Meekins & Talbert and former District Court Judge earns certification from the North Carolina Dispute Resolution Commission to mediate family law matters.
Attorney and former District Court Judge Meredith A. Shufordhas been certified to conduct mediations of equitable distribution and other family financial matters in District Court cases, the law firm of Teddy, Meekins & Talbert announced today.
Shuford received certification as a mediator from the North Carolina Dispute Resolution Commission. “The certification requires the applicant to have significant experience in family law cases, observe mediations conducted by other certified mediators, and complete a 40-hour training course to develop best practices for conducting mediations,” she said.
Earlier this year, Shuford joined Teddy, Meekins & Talbert, where she concentrates her practice on family law matters. Prior to joining the firm, Shuford served as a District Court Judge in Lincoln County and Cleveland County for 14 years.
